Deliverable: High-fidelity application.
Disciplines: UI / UX / Generative Design / Motion / Digital Futures
Software: p5.js, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, XD

Brief: For this student project, we were tasked with choosing an emerging technology from the Gartner Hype Cycle (2020), research it, design an future-product using that technology and then create a Digital Future where that product used for good or bad.
Response: I chose to research GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks). The technology involves pitting two AI against each other and whenever one loses, the other learns from it and tries to win next time. This is primarily used for creating new content out of a fixed dataset so for my futuristic product, I wanted to create an engine that digests the entire world history and creates a new version of it.

This is how the technology works simplified, including the analogy given by the creator, Ian Goodfellow. Both discriminator and generator are told if they have win or lost, thus learning from their mistakes and trying something different.

This is the technological roadmap mapping out several current uses of GANs including something potential new uses in the future.

This is an example of a user navigating to a specific event and changing the outcome. Once the new history is generated, the user can view every major event that is affected by that change.
